Eren in Italy

Italy is a European trailblazer in terms of green electricity: 30% of gross electricity generation in Italy comes from renewable sources, with hydroelectricity accounting for half of this share[1].

EREN was a pioneer in developing renewable energy in Italy. The experience of EREN’s founders goes back to the end of the 1990s, with the putting into service of hydroelectric plants in the north of the country, in particular in the provinces of Novara, Vercilli and Turin.

Energia Italia, a subsidiary of EREN and its long-standing Italian co-shareholder, now owns ten power plants constructed upstream and downstream of field irrigation channels.
